SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #2
Overall: #16

Brees was a little more turnover prone last season (22 interceptions), but still posted his usual big numbers. He threw for 4,620 yards and 33-touchdown passes. Brees had seven 300-yard games and touchdowns in every game last season. He has three straight seasons with 33 or more touchdown passes. Brees also has thrown for 4,300-plus yards five straight years. Brees is extremely accurate (completes 65 percent of his passes for career), makes great decisions and spreads the wealth to a host of talented options in the Saints offense. The Saints try to have a balanced offense, but remain pass-first with Brees at the helm. Brees had fewer than 30-pass attempts just once all of last year. He gets plenty of chances in this offense, an offense he knows very well.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Brees remains an elite fantasy quarterback. You can make a strong case for him to be the first quarterback taken come draft day. Brees plays in a pass-first offense and produces as consistent numbers as any quarterback in the game. His numbers won't be topped by many if any quarterbacks this season. Brees is good for around 4,500-passing yards and 30 touchdowns.
New Orleans Saints impending free-agent QB Drew Brees said he would be beyond stunned if he did not sign a new contract with the Saints this offseason.

New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton doesn't expect impending free-agent QB Drew Brees to be available on the free-agent market this offseason.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees completed 40 of 63 pass attempts for 458 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions in the NFC Divisional Round playoff game loss against the San Francisco 49ers Saturday, Jan. 14. His pass attempts were a postseason franchise record.
Fantasy Impact: It was another monster showing for Brees. He played at a very high level despite losing the game. He had some kind of finish to the season in 2011.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees has thrown for more than 300 yards in all five outdoor road games this season for a combined 1,849 yards. However, Brees has only thrown for nine touchdowns and added six interceptions outdoors.
Fantasy Impact: Brees hasn't been the same quarterback outside but we would expect him to have a big showing this weekend. He'll be ready.

The New Orleans Saints committed extra blockers on the offensive side of the ball to keep the Detroit Lions from putting pressure on QB Drew Brees in the Wild Card playoff game last weekend. 'Our game plan, honestly, was to get pressure on Drew Brees all night, but they do some things to slow down teams with good pass rushers, as far as doubling, chipping, keeping more guys in the pocket and having two-man routes,' Lions DL Cliff Avril said. 'It definitely made it a little more difficult getting to Brees throughout night.' The Lions blitzed only on 10 percent of Brees' passes.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees completed 33 of 43 passes for 466 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in the Wild Card game win against the Detroit Lions Saturday, Jan. 7. The yardage total was a regulation playoff record. Former Cleveland Browns QB Bernie Kosar holds the playoff record with 489 yards against the New York Jets in a double-overtime win Jan. 11, 1987.
Fantasy Impact: Brees is on some kind of run right now. He is as good as it gets in the NFL.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees set the all-time NFL single-season yardage mark this season, but he was named second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press Friday, Jan. 6, behind Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers.

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees went 28-for-35 for 389 yards, five touchdowns and one interception in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. Brees set NFL records for most completions in a single season with 450 and best completion percentage in a single season with 71.6 percent.

The New Orleans Saints are unclear as to whether QB Drew Brees will play significant minutes in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. Head coach Sean Payton may elect to rest Brees for the majority of the contest.
Fantasy Impact: Hopefully, your fantasy season is over. Brees likely won't play much this week.

Some Atlanta Falcons players were irked following Week 16 that New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees set the single-season passing record with the team already leading by 22 points with less than three minutes to play. 'No need for that,' one Falcons player said. 'It came on our watch, but it didn't have to come that way. We won't forget it.' Saints head coach Sean Payton defended the decision to go for the record. 'Someone is going to ask this question, so I am going to answer it before it's asked,' Payton said during his postgame media session. 'Typically, would I be throwing it there? The answer would be probably not. In fact, the answer would be 'I wouldn't be.' But I thought it was appropriate that we get the record. And we did it. We have a ton of respect for (Falcons coach) Mike (Smith), his staff and his players. It seemed like the right thing to do. I felt real good about the decision.'
Fantasy Impact: There probably are a bunch of Drew Brees owners that were happy with this decision.
